The short version
np-studylab is a private app for Bible study groups. You have to be 13 or older to use it. Be kind, be honest, and do not post anything you would not want a leader or a parent to see. Group leaders can remove posts and remove people. You can leave a group or delete your account whenever you want.

Who runs np-studylab
np-studylab is run by Halfservers, a company registered in Nebraska, United States. In this document, "we" and "us" mean Halfservers, and "you" means the person using the app.

Who can use np-studylab
- You must be 13 or older. There is no version of this app for children under 13.
- When you create an account you check a box that says you are 13 or older. That is a promise you are making to us.
- You give a real first and last name when you set up your profile. Your group leaders see it. Other members see only your display name unless you choose otherwise.
- One person, one account. Do not create an account for someone else and do not share yours.
- If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we delete it.
Your account
- There are no passwords. You sign in with Apple, with Google, with a passkey, or with a link we email you.
- Keep your phone and your email account locked. Anyone who can open your email can open your account.
- Tell us at support@halfservers.com if you think someone else has used your account.
Groups and leaders
- A group is created by a person, who becomes its owner. The owner can appoint leaders.
- Leaders can approve or refuse people who ask to join, set the reading plan, create and approve events, and moderate the chat.
- Leaders can see your real name, your photo, and who invited you, even when your profile is private. Leaders need that to run a group of minors responsibly.
- Leaders cannot read anything outside their own group, and there are no direct messages in np-studylab at all.
The rules
Do not use np-studylab to:
- Harass, bully, threaten, or humiliate anyone.
- Post sexual content, nudity, or anything that sexualises a minor. This is the one rule with no second chance.
- Post violence, self harm content, hate speech, or anything that attacks a person for who they are.
- Post a photo of another person without asking them first.
- Share another member's real name, photo, email address, or anything else from inside the app with people outside it.
- Pretend to be someone else, or pretend to be a leader.
- Sell things, run a scam, or spam a group.
- Break the law, or help anyone else break it.
- Scrape, copy in bulk, or automate access to the app, or try to get at data that is not yours.
Your content
- What you write stays yours. You keep every right you have in it.
- You give us permission to store your content and to show it to the people in your group. That permission is only for running np-studylab, and it ends when your content is deleted.
- You are responsible for what you post. Do not post something you do not have the right to post.
- We can remove content that breaks these rules, and leaders can remove content in their own group.
What we can do
- Leaders can delete a message, mute a member, slow the chat, lock the chat, remove a member, or block a member from their group.
- We can suspend or close any account that breaks these rules, and we can do it without warning when a person is at risk.
- We keep a record of moderation actions. See the privacy policy for how long.
Leaving, and deleting your account
- You can leave a group at any time from the group screen. You can choose to delete your messages when you go.
- You can delete your whole account from the Me screen. Deletion waits 30 days so you can change your mind, and then your profile, your photos, and your messages are removed and anything that must stay is labelled "Deleted user".
- You can export your own data as a file before you delete anything.
Things we cannot promise
- np-studylab is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always work, always be available, or never lose data.
- We are not responsible for what other members post.
- Nothing in this section takes away a right you have under the law where you live.
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything to do with np-studylab is limited to one hundred United States dollars.
Changes
- We can change these terms. When we do, we publish a new version with a new date.
- When the change is meaningful, we ask you to agree again the next time you open the app.
- If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Nebraska.
